Emmanuel Baptist Church in Farmington, New Mexico is seeking a Senior Pastor to replace our current Senior Pastor who has been called to become the Director of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico. Emmanuel is a Southern Baptist, mission-minded membership that welcomes and loves all who come, teaches and preaches the inerrant Word of God, and fervently desires to increase the Kingdom of God.

Resident membership is about 600. Our weekly worship attendance for the year ended 9/30/20 was 198. Our Sunday School attendance (29 classes) for the same period averaged 197. For the year ended 9/30/19 the totals were 216 and 220. For 9/30/18 they were 241 and 245. Prior to COVID we were tracking to increase 2020 over 2019.

Emmanuel is a debt-free, committee and ministry rich, group of believers who depend upon the spiritual leadership of our Senior Pastor. Therefore, the Senior Pastor must have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ; a spiritual and moral character and lifestyle consistent with the qualifications of an overseer as described in 1 Timothy 3:1 and Titus 1:5-9; and, be competent in interpersonal relationships, organization, and administration.

We contribute 11% of budget giving to the Cooperative Program, 4% to the San Juan Baptist Association, and participate in the Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, and State Mission offerings. We are partnering with a Spanish-language church plant in Portales, NM; another in Pleasant Hill, NM; and, a second and third generation Hispanic church in Farmington.

Farmington is located in the Northwestern corner of New Mexico (The Four Corners Region) with borders to Navajo, Apache, and Ute Reservations, a large Hispanic population, and a strong Mormon influence. The City of Farmington has a population of over 40,000, 52% Anglo, 22% Hispanic, and 22% Native American.

We are praying God provides a man who is seeking God’s mission – not a job. If you are that man, please provide your resume to search@ebfarmington.com before December 31, 2020.
