What to Expect

It is never easy to visit a new church for the first time so we want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. Here are the answers to a few common questions.

Please contact us if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable.

When are your services?
9:00am Service: Worship Service.
6:00pm - Evening Service

How should I dress?
We have a friendly and casual atmosphere. Dress the way you feel most comfortable - from jeans to business casual - but don't worry about what you are wearing.  We're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear.

Do I need to bring anything?
No, but feel free to bring a Bible and a pen to take notes. Our programs have a spot for general notes and we offer free wifi for those who prefer to use their smart phones or tablets.

What is the service like?
Our service include times of prayer, special music, corporate worship, and a message. Occasionally we use drama, video and other elements in our services. The entire service usually lasts about 60-70 minutes.

What is the music like?
The purpose of the music is to create the best environment possible for the worshippers to worship our God and Savior. Each week careful thought is given to what will best lead people to worship. Because the answer cannot satisfy every individual, we do our best to use a blended-style of worship that allows people the best opportunity to worship. Musical choices will change from week to week based upon the worship theme and available instrumentalists. Also, because we are currently using interim leadership, our style might change depending upon who is leading worship for that service. The most important thing we strive for is to be as excellent as possible for the glory of God.

What is the message (sermon) like?
Every Sunday, Pastor Steve teaches from God’s Word in a way that is designed to be relevant and straightforward. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life. We have two services each Sunday, and the sermon is identical at each one.  The Evening service has a completely different sermon, yet still taught by Pastor Steve.

Is there an offering?
Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. This is an act of worship for our regular attenders, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives. It also supports the ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church and allows us to reach more people for Christ in the future.

As a guest, you'll be asked to fill out a Guest Card during the service. Please fill out a card place it in the offering plate as it passes. We would love to be able to welcome you and answer any questions you may have.

Do you take Communion?
We celebrate Communion together regularly is either our morning or evening services. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The bread and juice we share are symbols representing the body and blood of Christ that were given on our behalf so that our sins could be forgiven.

Where do the kids go?
We have a wonderful ministry for children of all ages that is available during our 9am service called Kids Praise. Please stop by the Information Center in the hallway behind the sanctuary. We will be happy to direct or take you to the right classrooms and help you get your children registered.

Please visit our Children’s and High School pages to learn more about specific ministries for each of your children.

Is there a class I can take to learn more about the church?
Yes.  Several times a year we offer a New Members Class for those interested in learning more about Emmanuel Baptist and how you can partner with us.  Please click on the link below to fill out the form and let us know you'd like to participate.
